Beaches

If you love quiet beaches then Northumberland is definitely the place for you.

Here is a selection for you to try, we've added the ///what3words address for parking.

Warkworth Beach

Car park at ///shovels.overheard.pointer

Just a short 10 minute drive from Sycamore Cottage. A 5 minute walk from the car park through the dunes to the beach.

Druridge Bay

Park at Druridge Bay country park ///published.canny.careful

Again a 5 minute walk from the car, across a minor road to the beach.

When you've been on the beach pop to the cafe adjacent to the car park.

Alnmouth Beach

Car park at  ///unloading.droplet.breezy

You are parking right next to the beach. Parking charges can be found here, https://burgageholders.co.uk/news/car-parking-charges-2021/

Low Newton By the Sea

Car park at  ///subway.craziest.vanish

There is no public parking in the village. It's worth the walk down the road from the carpark. Have a wonder on the beach and through the dunes, then enjoy a drink at The Ship Inn

Seahouses

You are best trying to park along the road from Seahouses to Bamburgh. Depending on where you manage to park you might have a 10 minutes walk through the dunes, but it's worth it to get to the huge beach which goes all the way to Bamburgh

Bamburgh

Park in any of the car parks in Bamburgh.

If you park opposite the castle you walk round the base of the castle to get to the beach. Another huge and quiet beach.

Coldingham Bay

A bit of longer drive (about an hour and a half) but there is good surf and even a surf school.

Car park at ///toothpick.decking.defected
